In the new refurbished Blackfriars station there is a wall with a list of European destinations.

This part of the wall was retained from the original station and was restored before the new expanded station was opened in 2011. It contains an interesting mix of destinations and is a reminder of days when boat trains connected Britain to the rest of Europe.
One thing to notice is that a destination in the UK is placed next to a European destination for example Antwerp is next to Ashford, and Gravesend is next to Darmstadt in the top row. The blocks are sandstone and they are gilded with 24 carat gold leaf.
This wall can be found in the concourse next to the toilets and the lifts.
