by Ian Blair January 17, 2020 No Comments

Preserved 31438 in BR Blue livery slowly pulling into Ongar station on the Epping Ongar Railway on 9th October 2016

This was originally part of the London Underground Central Line, but after it was closed from Epping forest in 1994, it was reopened as a heritage line in 2004.

The loco was built in 1959 as D5557 and after withdrawal spent time on the Mid-Norfolk railway before being sold to the Epping Ongar railway in 2011.
