During the Blackfriars redevelopment in 2010 I noticed that the hooks of the cranes that were being used were all helpfully painted in dayglow orange.
It appears that the hooks themselves were rated for a load of 50 tons.

So here are a few gratuitous photographs of the business ends of the cranes.

And a photo to put them in context to see where they were actually being used at the north end of the station
